In Rwanda it costs money to go to school so lots of kids can’t go even though they really want to. Many also have to work so the family can buy food. Not very many houses have water so you will see lots of kids walking to get water. Few people have televisions so they spend more time together playing and talking outside. But you know what? The kids are not that different from us. They love to laugh and play. They love music. They love to dance. And they really love sports – especially soccer! If you travelled to Rwanda, you would have a lot of fun playing with the kids there.
Rwanda is also called the Land of a Thousand Hills because there are so many hills. It’s a beautiful place.

In the rural areas, most of the houses are very simple. They added patches of grass in the front of this one to make the front pretty.
